The latest 3-D model is a 3-D scanned milk can in 6000 polygons (“Metal Jug”). The texture images are all at least 8000 pixels square, and they have normal maps. Supports .blend, glTF, .zip, .usd (Universal Scene Description), .fbx, and for HDRIs, Open EXR and Radiance RGBE (.hdr). Supported by ads, several hundred patrons on Patreon (who get early access to new files that are otherwise shown only as teasers for weeks), and a Blender addon. One of the top downloads is a 27k triangle model of a Leica camera uploaded four years ago with 27000 triangles and 89000 downloads. #pasivos
on 02024-05-21#video about 10 more “waifu” #games from Steam. The first is “The Citadel”, a sort of Wolfenstein 3D FPS, which is kind of disturbing. “Anime World”, a kind of lame low-poly 3-D RPG where you fight goblins. “Megacraft, Hentai Edition” has buxom catgirls in bikinis and seems to be a sort of third-person Minecraft clone with them. (And without enemies.) Eventually he tunnels out of the bottom of the world and falls forever. “Together BnB” features uncanny-valley humanoid characters in revealing outfits who flirt with you. (Then there’s a Raycon earbud ad.) Then he goes deer hunting in the fog with a handgun. Then there’s a Leisure-Suit-Larry style menu-driven dialog. “Hentai vs. Furries” has cartoony figures in bikinis killing stuffed animals with a semiautomatic rifle.
on 02024-05-21#video on MIT-licensed #Godot #dialogue system for #visual-novels. It’s called GodotEzDialoguePlugin because the author is YouTuber “real-ezTheDev”, aka #DeveloperEzra. He demonstrates using the Godot UI widgets, defining new node classes in scripts, connecting signals to callbacks, getting bugs due to implicit @onready invocation, loading JSON files in the node inspector, etc., really a full Godot development tutorial. He came up with an ad-hoc ASCII textual language for writing his dialogues, including --- for page breaks within a single dialogue, which displays as a boxes-and-wires graph. It looks like it might be a little more work to use than #Dialogic, because it’s much more narrowly focused, but by the same token, maybe more flexible and easier to debug. The dialogue system supports variable interpolation and conditionals on state variables passed in from the main GDScript logic, as well as emitting “custom signals” that are handled synchronously. #games
