I think "Kicks" is a #CICS clone or fork? For playing with #transactions on your IBM 360 in #emulation I guess. “KICKS is an enhancement for CMS & TSO on IBM mainframes (or emulators) that lets you run your CICS applications directly instead of having to ‘install’ those apps in CICS. You don’t even need CICS itself installed on your mainframe. KICKS provides a high level of source code compatibility with CICS. You can migrate applications either way between CICS and KICKS simply by recompiling.”

35' #video on magnesium phosphate #cements #materials for airfield pavements for enhanced corrosion resistance and heat resistance by a guy whose product has been in service at Cannon Air Force Base for three years now. Apparently leaked lubricants were somehow forming phosphoric acid in the jet wash, which ate the concrete. Magnesium-phosphate pothole fillers were immune. Magnesium oxide (light, hard, or dead burned), ammonium or potassium phosphate salts, fly ash (40–60%) and boric acid to retard the reaction (though boric acid degrades the strength, by about 25% at 3% boric acid), and water. The set cement is struvite-K (MgKPO₄). He mentions that any unreacted phosphates are highly soluble, making porous concrete after they leach out. See ERDC Technical Report 20-12 from 02020 by Ramsey, Scott, Weiss, and Tingle. #toread

I’m amazed how many factual errors he was able to fit into a single 21-minute video. Where it’s not wrong, it’s super unclear. It expands when curing, so it’s better to have a mold you can take the sides off of. #cements #toread
