Having done this, I think it’s a bad idea; being right next to the door means that someone outside it can shoot you through it at point blank range, and if they’re armed with a knife, you’re within knife range of the door when they come in. “Allyson Duckro said she was on the phone with 911 by that point when Rayl broke the glass and the door frame became loose, and she went to hide before hearing gunshots. Police arrived on the scene soon after.”
