#Backblaze silently stopped backing up Git repositories (though others debate this), and also, in version 9.2.2.877, “services like OneDrive, Google Drive, #Dropbox, Box, iDrive, and others”. #backups
Neil44 points out that #Backblaze backing up things like #Dropbox could be Really Bad Actually: “you could sync a 1tb onedrive to your 250gb laptop but it’s OK because of smart/selective sync aka files on demand. Then backblaze backup tries to back the folder up and requests a download of every single file and now you have zero bytes free, still no backup and a sick laptop” #backups

claims #Backblaze does back up .git directories, just hides them by default in the web UI, but others claim Backblaze support says they don’t. #backups

Attempts at plasma nitriding failed. Unfortunately the video contains a lot of filler stock footage.
Play-Doh #MSDS #PDF says it’s 37% wheat flour, 5.7% NaCl, 5.7% CaCl2, 4.74% cornstarch, 2.9% mineral oil, 1.7318% TiO2, 1% mica, and, most amusingly, 0.1047% carbon black. Presumably the rest is water. Wikipedia says it contains borax but this MSDS doesn’t. #materials
#news: #Korea had been importing 60% of its #oil via the Strait of Hormuz, but due to the #Iran war has been seeking alternatives: “‘[V]isits to four countries have secured the import of 273 million barrels of crude oil by the end of this year,’ Kang Hoon-sik, chief of staff to the president, said (...) sufficient for more than three months of South Korea’s oil needs (...) after he returned from a trip to Kazakhstan, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.” Which makes no sense for two reasons: the end of the year is eight and a half months off, so this is about 35% of Korea’s oil usage, and Qatar and Oman export their oil via the Strait.

Shakira speaking, nominally, seven languages. I didn’t have any trouble understanding her English, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, French, or Italian, but I don’t speak Catalan or Italian or much Portuguese, so I think they might have been heavily Spanish-influenced. I couldn’t understand her Arabic at all, of course. #polyglot #video
