"Transito" is a #GTFS app for planning trips on public #transportation, but it requires #Android 11.
Torsten Grote’s "Transportr" is another public #transportation trip routing app, requiring #Android 9. Not sure if it uses GTFS or if it supports the SFBA.
Andreas Schildbach’s "Offi" is another public #transportation trip routing app, requiring #Android 7 (or 8 in the latest version). Not sure if it uses GTFS or if it supports the SFBA.

#video of a New Year #robotics show in #China thanks to Sculptor. The robots are child-sized humanoids, performing a martial-arts form including backflips, on stage on a specially prepared smooth floor. They are spaced far apart, and of course the performance is pre-scripted, because martial-arts forms are pre-scripted by definition. They performed with humans who perturbed them somewhat, grabbing staffs they were swinging. Toward the end the robots performed with nunchaku and did a bit of breakdancing and parkour.

“This “Hybrid Cut” [of THX-1138] combines as much HD material from the CGI “Enhanced” 2004 Blu-Ray Director’s Cut, with as little SD material from the 1978 Laserdisc cut as possible, while still trying to recreate the original version very closely.” It’s interesting that things like this are getting made today.

#video by Rosa (#lifeoutofmyelement) after 8 years of #vanlife claiming that now vanlife is “kind of normal” and has “become normalized and more accepted by society” but describes her relationship with her car as “very attached and kind of codependent”. She recommends iOverlander.com and freecampsites.net for finding places to camp; in the urban areas where she spends a third of her time, she recommends rest areas and Park & Ride lots. She’s driven 214000 “miles” (344000 km in modern units) over the 8 years, 43000 km per year (118 km/day, 1.36 m/s). Now she’s spending US$3000–4000 a year on car maintenance, but gas is more expensive still. I feel like you could probably cut those costs by an order of magnitude by driving less, but maybe not the car insurance (and she also says she has to pay for health insurance, phone bill, food, and gas). She’s on her third iteration of the build of the furnishings using Amazon shelves and whatnot.
