#video #politics #news from #Argentina of #Milei speaking (at Congress?) for 40 minutes last night about the budget he’s proposing and bragging about how great his presidency has been. He claims homicides in Rosario are down 75%. Halfway through his supporters in the galleries start singing football songs.

#PDF #paper of Thierry Excoffier’s “zero-memory widgets” #IMGUI paper from 02003, LIRIS Research Report 20030311. One neat idea is to disable buttons if the zmw_activated() function is not called while they’re the current widget — if the activation state of the button is not consulted, the library can known that clicking the button would have no effect! I also like if (zmw_tip_visible()) ZMW(zmw_window_popup(&window_tip)) { ... }. I also like the idea of restoring the graphics context state (foreground color, etc.) when exiting a nested widget. #toread

#video from three days ago about #Anduril’s Barracuda cruise missile #weaponry #drones. #Palmer-Luckey describes #China as an “expansionist dictatorship” and claims that Anduril’s autonomous drones in #Ukraine have been crucial to destroying Russian hardware. He pronounces it ['ænd ɚ ,ɪl]. “I don't think the United States needs to be the world police. We need to be the world gun store. (...) Ukraine has really exposed this weakness in the United States' foreign policy strategy, where we say we support all of these people, but they look and say, ‘They can’t even manufacture the basics, like artillery shells or, you know, small missiles.’” They just raised money on a US$14 billion valuation to build “Arsenal One, a five million square foot factory that we’re building”. Refuses to comment on possible deployments in Israel, but says, “We have a very strong relationship with #Taiwan,” and says Anduril was recently sanctioned by the CPC.
