Someone should tell him about transformers, though, and about MOSFET TO-220 tab electrodes. And I don’t agree that burning the wooden backing board at 10ms means that too much heat went into the 200μm nickel strips he’s trying to spot-weld together. He’s still able to peel the "weld" apart with pliers, which to me means that he got inadequate penetration. He has an ingenious and amusing solder-free zip-tie technique to connect the electrodes.
