Sternberg’s #morphology company #Machine-Vision-International laid off 50 of its 79 employees in February 01987 “because of the company`s withdrawal from painted-surface and electronic-component inspection. Machine Vision, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., said it will focus on application of its artificial vision systems to three-dimensional robot guidance.”
Sternberg’s #morphology company was originally incorporated as CytoSystems in 01981, changed its name to #Machine-Vision-International in 01983, went public in 01985, lost a lot of money in 01986, had investor Safeguard Scientifics take over the board that year, started selling microcomputers to corporate customers, bought some computer resellers in 01987, and Sternberg left to form a new Machine Vision International. Now the old one is CompuCom in Texas, which exited the machine vision market in 01988.

Also 175Wh/kg, compared to LFP Li-ion’s 185, though far below 250–300 for high-density non-LFP Li-ion batteries. The video is just talking heads and stock footage, though. #energy
