"Hydron" focuses on waste effluent brines. Their pitch: “Hydron’s solvent based desalination platform treats hypersaline contaminated water at the lowest operating cost and high recoveries where conventional systems fail.” It’s one of Sarah’s investments at Social Impact Capital, and she’s listed as “Co-Founder and Executive Chair”.
YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, who rented out her garage to the #Google founders, had US$765 million in 02022, and also lung cancer, which killed her two years later. :(
Linda Dement’s Hypercard #art work “Typhoid Mary” was one of the things that most impacted me at SIGGRAPH 93; this is not a copy of it, but just a note about it. There are pierced nipples on this page, and as I recall it the piece had a lot of disturbing human orifices in it.

#News from 02023 about #Elmu turning off #Starlink at some earlier time to thwart an attack by #Ukraine: “There was an emergency request from government authorities to activate Starlink all the way to Sevastopol,” Musk wrote on X, the platform previously known as Twitter. “The obvious intent being to sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor. If I had agreed to their request, then SpaceX would be explicitly complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation.” Reporter Brad Dress writes: “Musk was concerned about Russia responding to the naval attack with a nuclear weapon, Isaacson wrote in the book, according to CNN. Ukrainian officials begged him to turn the service back on, but he declined to do it for the Crimea incident.”

#video #toread on #survivalists using #JS8call for #QRP #radio on HF bands. Mentions that NVIS is difficult to direction-find. Demonstrates his in-attic dipole antenna for the 40-meter band to avoid the specter of the HOA. A lot of talking-head filler but I think under 50%. Later on he has a screencast of using the JS8Call software on 7.078MHz.
