• You can increase your intelligence 5 ways to maximize your cognitive potential (blogs.scientificamerican.com):

an article promoting Jaeggi’s #dual-n-back #psychology exercise for #intelligence amplification; doesn’t mention that later studies have found no transfer. Also talks about other even less proven exercises for boosting intelligence.

• Extracting qualcomms keymaster keys (bits-please.blogspot.com.ar):

how #Android disk encryption #security stores (part of) its keys in hardware to make them hard to copy, and how to defeat that

• Equivalence parallel combs tdls (ccrma.stanford.edu):

feedforward comb #filters in parallel are equivalent to tapped delay lines. #DSP

• Singing Kelly Lochbaum vocal tract (ccrma.stanford.edu):

The Kelly-Lochbaum tapped-delay-line model of the vocal tract for singing, from 1962, synthesized formants by acoustic tube modeling; but then was replaced by more purely spectral models like LPC. #DSP

• Ivory concepts (ivorylang.org):

Ivory is an embedded DSL for Haskell for embedded programming, with a backend that generates C. No heap allocation, but it does do stack allocation, and it doesn’t even have a way to compute a bound on the stack depth. Also has a fixed upper bound on every loop. #formal-methods
