#news: after a battle with 100 arrested and 60 killed (including four police) in two favelas in Rio de Janeiro, #drones attacked police stations in #Brazil with grenades, leaving several of them (five?) spewing columns of black smoke at once. “Comando Vermelho” seems to be the name of the gang the government is fighting.
More #news about the #Brazil battle with #Comando-Vermelho that killed not 60 but 64 people. In one shot there seem to be 9 columns of black smoke, which, according to the other reports, were from police stations in flames. Classes were suspended in the universities and high schools, the streets of the city are almost empty because people went home early, and the gangs cut off a bunch of streets (with 71 hijacked public-transport buses? and, according to some of the footage, a semi?) to impede the movement of the police. And apparently the police cut off other streets. But this report doesn’t mention any attacks on police stations.
