#video about #Argentina setting up a new military base in Ushuaia together with #USA, possibly inspired by #Antarctica oil #energy; #Milei went to Antarctica as soon as he assumed the presidency to repudiate #Chile’s conflicting territorial claims, in the “territory of peace and science” in the treaty signed by all three countries. The Russian discovery might be twice Saudi Arabia’s oil. Reporting by Mega Investiga or Mega Noticias of Chile. #politics
#video about #bootstrapping a spot-welder from a 1.5V battery? #clickbait He’s extracting the carbon rod from a carbon-zinc battery (“Rabbit” brand, which is maybe a Vietnamese thing?) and then uses like a 12-volt scooter battery or something? His bottle of 28% sulfuric acid is labeled in Vietnamese; he uses it to corrode some of the peeled-off battery casing, producing hydrogen bubbles, and perhaps to clean the carbon. He sands the surface of the carbon electrode, maybe to bring it to a point. He uses some leftover copper pipe as an electrode holder, piercing the electrode end of it with a drill for some reason, after “center-punching” it with a nail. Then he mounts the copper electrode holder in a bamboo handle. A little more drill action on the non-electrode end, drilling at an angle through the pipe end, and he can insert a wire, fold it over, twist it around, and hold it in place with the bamboo. He strips his wires with a box cutter, rolling the wire along the blade. He crimps on his large alligator clips with diagonal cutters. His power source for the spot welder is the 36V rechargeable battery from his cordless drill! A couple of pieces of steel wire stuck into its terminals can be connected to the alligator clips. The carbon can draw an arc from the other alligator clip. Before spot welding, he cleans the surface with the sulfuric on a Q-tip. He feeds some twisted steel (or solder?) wire into the arc in order to make the weld, blowing out the carbon when it catches on fire. The sulfuric seems to be his only flux, and he’s welding on stainless, so his penetration is terrible. This battery DC arc welding is very quiet, though, with just the hiss of an arc. After a few minutes of such welding, the battery seems to be dead. A rat-tail file cleans up some of the worst of the weld.
#video #clickbait #Thought-Emporium making microdot messages of dickbutt. Mostly stock footage. He confuses microfiche with other forms of microfilm, but then hand-develops Ilford PANF ISO 50 film. Mentions Fujifilm panchromatic Minicopy HR II film, which is ISO 6, intended specifically for microfilm. What he wants to do is photographically print zoneplates and other diffraction gratings.
