SIGGRAPH ’21 #PDF presentation explaining how Unreal Engine 5’s "Nanite" “virtual geometry system” does automatic level-of-detail #graphics on triangle meshes, as an alternative to voxelization, displacement maps, point clouds, or subdivision surfaces; it doesn’t handle skeletal animation yet. It groups triangles into clusters of up to 128 triangles, which are sort of grouped into higher-level clusters, and culls invisible clusters.
"Futhark" is a small programming language designed to be compiled to efficient parallel code. “Because it’s nicer than writing CUDA or #OpenCL by hand!” It is a statically typed, data-parallel, and purely functional array language in the ML family, and comes with a heavily optimising ahead-of-time compiler that presently generates either GPU code via CUDA and OpenCL. ... You can compile a Futhark program to a Python module that internally uses #PyOpenCL to execute code on the GPU. #GPGPU
"PyOpenCl" gives you easy, Pythonic access to the #OpenCL parallel computation API. #GPGPU
