#news on #Jaguar CEO stepping down after people who hate gay people complained about its #ad. “The Jaguar CEO is stepping down months after leading a controversial “woke” rebrand campaign for the auto company.” #culture-war
on 02025-08-03#Jaguar #ad #news saying “a clip of its new advert was met with a barrage of “vile hatred and intolerance” online”, but not what about. #culture-war
on 02025-08-03#video of #Jaguar’s “copy nothing” 30-second spot #ad with no cars in it which apparently sparked a huge backlash from I guess people who hate gay people? Or maybe racists? Because the only thing I can see in this ad that would be controversial is that the people are androgynous and some of them are black. Top YouTube comment: “Jaguar’s pronouns are Was/Were.” Followed by: “This ad will be studied for centuries in universities as an example of what not to do in #marketing”. Other comments say, “I'm pretty sure this ad is the ultimate product of universities”, “Together with the ad that cost Bud Lite its No1 spot...”, and “More like “Hold my soy milk latte””, “DID THEY LEARN NOTHING FROM THE DYLAN MULVANEY FIASCO???”, “What do you think ultra luxury car buyers have in common with people who drink bud light?”, “I guess Jaguar identifies as bankrupt”, and “Its like the Jaguar advertisement team typed in the the words “color, gay, and gender” into an AI and then hit enter”. So it seems like it’s people who hate education and gay people. #culture-war
