#EEVblog 1718 #video on high-speed probing of #electronics with #oscilloscope probes with a 1kΩ resistor soldered onto a BNC RG-174 cable as your probe tip (a so-called “Z0 probe”), thus putting 1kΩ between your circuit and the cable’s capacitance, with hopefully a much lower parasitic capacitance than a normal o-scope probe, maybe 1pF instead of 13pF. But your DC input impedance is still only 1kΩ rather than 1MΩ or 10MΩ, so you can, for example, load down tri-stated buses much more. And you need a 50Ω termination for your scope cable. But they tolerate longer ground leads than an active FET probe.
