Oh my my, #solar #energy #pricing has become exciting again. At the end of 02018, when the cartel was announced at Davos, the prices were 0.19 euros per watt peak for “Low Cost” modules; 0.27 for “Mainstream”; and 0.36 for “High Efficiency”. At the end of 02022, four years later, we see 0.22 for “Low Cost”; 0.31 for “Mainstream”; and 0.41 for “High Efficiency”. Each of the last few months has set a new low-price record; now we’re at 0.11 for “Low Cost”; 0.19 for “Mainstream”; and 0.27 for “High Efficiency” so prices for the low-cost category are half of what they were at the end of last year, and 42% lower than they’ve ever been before. This is earthshattering.
retail #solar #energy #pricing has this nominally 410 watt panel for $184564, which is US$213 today, 52 cents a watt. This is still 2.7 times the Solar Server price for wholesale “mainstream” panels. 113 cm x 172 cm, 21 kg (!?), 20.99% efficient, 108 monocrystalline cells, Eging PV EG-410M54, 31.76V at maximum power (12.91 amps), 37.66V open-circuit voltage, and 13.66 amps short-circuit current.
