grsecurity is quitting after 15 years due to embedded software companies not “playing by the rules”.
Python interface to #trading data from Thomson Reuters’s “Datastream” service.
"Making Pictures With GNU #PIC", by ESR. An #introduction to pic syntax and semantics. (I didn’t know you could embed shell commands in it!) Unfortunately pic doesn’t do autolayout, and although groff’s nroff -p kind of works, the text isn’t nicely fit into boxes, and the arrowheads aren’t displayed as recognizable arrowheads, so pic isn’t a useful way to make ASCII-art bubble-and-arrow diagrams. (-Tutf8 and -Tascii are the options.)
The #PIC manual from 1991 by Kernighan.
#PIC and the other ditroff-related stuff got released as free software as part of OpenSolaris, and they are preserved here.
out-of-the-box #parallel sorting and #prefix-sum of arrays in #Java 8 for #performance.
Jon Skeet explains why the parallel-array object representation from FORTRAN is error-prone in Java.
more about recurrent #neural-networks, in particular “long short-term memory” RNNs, with Computer Modern fonts, so it must be good. Fabulous diagrams. The diagrams are PNG, and the source for them isn’t in the GitHub repo, so I can’t tell how they were made.
#syntax-highlighting in #JS for DHTML, with pluggable themes and syntaxes, including ARM and x86 assembly, OpenSCAD, DNS zone files, Prolog, Fortran, SML, OCaml, Verilog, Less, Tcl, erb, Scheme, G-Code, Kx q, Nix, Clojure, and of course Python, JS, Markdown, HTML, Java, C++, ObjC, SQL, and Ruby.
A #JS footnote library that does mouseover popups.
#OCaml on PIC microcontrollers.
MJD’s #Linogram #constraint based drawing program only supports PostScript output and “dummy” output, which is actually an ad-hoc vector graphics format intended for debugging. In particular, like graphviz and (effectively) groff pic, it doesn’t support ASCII-art output.
